Some pictures are very special. For me, this is one of them. A backyard snap, taken by
a brother, it has the magic to banish the years in an instant and I can remember exactly
how I felt at that moment. Every romance I write, attempts to share my feelings on that
day...and how I have felt every day since. For that reason alone, this picture will be a
constant part of me as a romance writer.
For the rest, I have lived well and can look back with few regrets to an unusual
childhood, parents who were special in their own right, a partner better than I deserve,
children who are friends, and grandchildren who promise to become the same.
My writing grew out of a raconteur father, a restless imagination, and a need to escape
the stresses of a 24/7 career. A search for feedback resulted in winning two romance
writing competitions and contract for five books with my first publisher. At her request I
became Amy Gallow, honoring the love of a lifetime. Since then I have known other
publishers, other editors, and enjoyed their company on the journey as I experimented
and learnt.
To those of you who would join me on the road, Welcome! We have miles to go before
the sun sets.
